06 Sep ππ₯”Dragons and Demons” (KDT5) Released TODAY!π₯βοΈ
WOOHOO!!! It’s RELEASE DAY!
The long-awaitedΒ King’s Dark Tidings Book 5, “Dragons and Demons” released today! The hardcover comes out next week,
but while you’re waiting, you can pick up the e-book for only $4.99 or for FREE with KindleUnlimited. Even more exciting, the phenomenal Nick Podehl reprises his role as EVERYONE in this new installment, so don’t hesitate to download your audiobook copy.
And …
For those of you who have been so patiently waiting, the first four books are now available for purchase in hardcover on Amazon. So whether you prefer to read in print or just want them for your collection, you can now have KDT on your bookshelf with beautiful cover art from the talented Chris McGrath. I’ve been getting a lot of requests for signed copies. The answer is YES, I will be making that happen. That’s in the works, but I’m not yet sure when they’ll be available.
By the way, I had a great time at Dragon Con 2022 this year and especially seeing all the creative and amazing cosplay. I would love to see some KDT or SOP cosplay some day. (Hint, hint–anyone want to be an ugly, ornery, and thoroughly mysterious horse?) Maybe next year π. Thank you all so much for your support and for continuing this journey with Rezkin and his friends. If you happen to have a few minutes after a read, please consider leaving an Amazon review. Believe it or not, they make a difference and are much appreciated. π₯°

Posted at 19:19h, 10 SeptemberHey Kel,
I loved this book! I can not thank you enough for this book series. I have listened to each book 5-6 times, and now that we have the 5th book, I know I’ll listen to it just as many times. I left a 5-star review/comment on Audible and Amazon, I apologize for not doing it sooner. Thank you again!!!

Posted at 17:14h, 10 SeptemberYay! Book 5! I loved it, thanks for continuing this series I love.
The character growth in this new book is great. Rezkin’s emotional growth was brilliantly done I thought. Although, at the end of book 5 it seemed he was deciding to go be a hermit and abandon his friends to continue without him. On the one hand that feels out of character for him, on the other hand it feels right. He has always seemed so burdened with duty and responsibility, but he finally seems liberated from the indoctrination of his masters.
I am so relieved he is over Frisha, she was getting fairly obnoxious to me. I liked the plot twist of her being kidnapped, although it felt kind of out of character for Qzar to to take her with him when he left. His reasoning of it being safer felt flimsy to me. Aren’t the elf ghosts keeping folks safe? How could they let him kidnap her? Aren’t they omniscient inside their territory?
Well, we finally know what happened to Prince Thresin! I had a feeling he was not dead, because what happened to him had been left as a mystery.
With Bardesh dead, I feel like Rezkin’s people need to obtain the services of another Zsen necromancer to aid them.
I really liked the explanation of Rezkin’s magic! what a cool system. he also seems to be able to do things that the other spiretuas have not done, or can’t do. like make those portable mage relays.
I hope there are more chapters I knight Iseria in the following books, I enjoyed reading about her. Also, the Brant double thing threw me for a loop! wtf?! Seemed kind of out of the blue and irrelevant to the plot.
I wonder how many books there will be in this series?
Thanks so much for another marvelous book!
Sincerely,
Austin
Bleedover
Posted at 16:36h, 09 SeptemberWith writing two series at the same time, is there any unintended bleed over into KDT? You started the other series around the time of book 3 right?

Posted at 15:58h, 14 SeptemberI spend some time getting into a different mindset when I write the two series, and I don’t think there’s any bleedover. I think that writing more books in both series had made me a better author (I hope).

Posted at 18:34h, 08 SeptemberA good AMA question: was Brant double a mistake in book 4? I didn’t even realize he was two separate places at the same in book 4 …even after listening to it too many times

Posted at 14:56h, 08 SeptemberI’ve already read it once, and am just going right back in for a second read through to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Truly such an epic book! I waited years for it and I want to say thank you for continuing the series, and writing such an amazing new installment in the series. I am so glad you’re continuing the story, and really excited or the next one! Thank you, I truly couldn’t put it down

Posted at 14:49h, 08 SeptemberLoved the book so much! I loved the ending especially, I feel like thereβs such good growth of the characters in this book and so much more potential to come.
I made sure to review on audible and Amazon, but for some reason a bunch of reviews on audible are under the impression this is the series ending, which it clearly isnβt.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful world with us as always!
