  3. Thank you for the release. I will wait for the audiobook in Nov b/c I really like Nick’s performance in your series. Then I will go back and read on my kindle to get the full spectrum experience.

Also, I find it hard to pronounce the foreign names in the books. I remember thinking it was read one way, then when I listen to the audiobook I realize my pronunciation was not even close.

  5. Just finished reading it, it was pretty awesome. Nice to see more of the world Rezkin lives in. But why would you end it the way you did? Do you hate us? You know we’re going to be on pins and needles till book 5 comes out…

Why did you end the book the way you did? Ugh I suffer from depression and books take me to another world but ending it the way you did leaves me in a panic and depressed 😦 Ugh I hope wait won’t be as long as it was between 3 and 4! Please don’t take too long.

  6. Kel I love your writing and I am glad at the development but I hope it ends with Rez being happy. I don’t want an emporer of thorns finale.

  8. How do i get this ebook?? I don’t have access to kindle because of my geographical location and i really want to read this book. Somebody please help!

    • Thank you for your interest. You don’t need a Kindle to read the ebook. You can download the free Kindle app to your smart phone, tablet, or computer and read it using the app. 😁

      • Wow, thank you for replying me. I downloaded the kindle app and installed on my tablet however i am unable to get the book using the app. I can see the book fine but there isn’t any option to either read or buy the book. Sorry for bothering you with this but is there any other way i can simply buy the eBook? Thanks

      • Unfortunately, you can’t purchase the book through the Kindle app. You must go to the Amazon website (not the Amazon app) and purchase the book. If your Kindle app is logged in to the same account, you will then see the book available for download in the Kindle app. It’s pretty fast. I can’t sell you the ebook independently because I have an exclusivity contract with Amazon.

  9. Why?

    Oh why?

    Do you hate us?

Loved the book! It confirmed much of what I had already suspected about Rezkin. Noticed a few things that were a little odd, but hoping those will be cleared up in the next installment. Can’t wait for the audiobook so I can devour it as well.

But why did you have to leave it at such a point? It’s not like we weren’t all going to be going bonkers for book five anyway…

Sometimes I really wish I had not found this series until just before the last book is released. So here’s hoping for a January release for book five…I would say Christmas but I don’t want to be too pushy. Any chance you can make that happen? Pretty please? With cherries on top?

Keep up the amazing writing! And if you ever get this series out in print, you can sign me up for three copies of each.

  10. Damn.

I’m so glad about what turned out of Frisha’s romance. That was better. But I think she will regret once she realizes something she overlooked.

The immaturity of Rezkin’s “friends” exposes how stoic he really is. My hunch is that once the war is finally over and he did what he could to return peace to Ashai, he will end up alone by betrayal and avoidance of his “friends.” Maybe Rezkin could fake his death and disappear, and let them live their happy and comfort life, for there will be a new adventure lies ahead of him. More countries he can go to, more creatures he will discover, more establishments and houses to infiltrate, and more people to kill.

OH, SHIYT! THE NEXT BOOK IS GONNA BE SICK! I CAN’T WAIT TO READ IT! I CAN IMAGINE CAYDEAN SHAKING HIS BOOTS!

    • **SPOILERS**

I hope he can overcome that. He really seems to have loved her. His weakness. Uh oh. Now it’s been exploited. I’m really hoping it doesn’t twist him into something ugly and make him anti-love. I’m glad to see that Frisha has found happiness although sad that it’s at Rezkins expense. Maybe there is some fae queen awaiting him. Lol.

I love how I can never guess what’s coming next!

  11. Please dont do book 5 like book 3, I want a quick resolution to the end of book 4, not half a book of looking for a resolution. I know we didnt spend much time there in book 4, but I don’t want a lot of time spent there on book 5. Hopefully no spoilers

      • I know it’s just your opinion but since when do we tell writers how to write🤔? They have a process. If we’re left hanging, since the spoilers already out, I’m sure there’s a reason. I seriously doubt Mr kade just didn’t have time to finish book 4 & published it anyway! I personally like when a book mid series isn’t all wrapped up in a neat little package at the end, it keeps me guessing about what’ll happen next!

      • @DJ Johnson I’m not telling him how to write, let Kade do Kade. just expressing my interests and concerns in his writing. I have few concerns, just, as you said, offering my opinion. A really amazing book. I feel, with the exception of the ending, and this may lead to a better book 5 idk, that this has been the best book in the sereist

      • That’s debateable, and as a reader I am offering feedback to a writer whose works I greatly enjoy. A few of my coworkers share books we enjoy and we have all enjoyed Kade’s writing. This is not negative feedback saying I dont like his books or writings, this is my personal preference for pacing in books. I tend to skip over books in a series that focus too much on what I personally feel could be covered in a much shorter time frame, and don’t wish to see 3/4 of the next book dealing with the conclusion of the previous book. My coworkers have also expressed similar doubts about the pacing of the next entry in the series. I prefer for the resolution to be 1/8, and I am sharing my personal feelings with my beloved author. Much praise to you @KelKade, I really enjoy this series.

    • What if those creatures at the end have some sort of mind control to make Frisha and Tieran love each other. This would allow the creatures to catch Rez when he’s mad and unaware. Maybe that’s why Kel ended the book in such a way.

    • I understood what you were saying. I am in agreement. I need to read book 3 again. So forgive me on my details. It’s been quite some time.
I did feel, as did my husband, that book 3 was written quite differently from the first 2 books. It seemed semi out of place pace wise and writing style. There was quite a bit of feedback at that time expressly similar thoughts. After reading book 4 I think Kel took that feedback to heart…? (Sorry if that’s way off Kel!) Book 4 was much closer to the same style as the first 2 books. I enjoyed the flow, and the banter. I also now understand the point of book 3. We needed those character introductions and explanations. Book 4 was a nice combination of all the various pieces, places, and characters.

  12. I wish that you would of kept Frisha around for Rez it seems kinda silly that you gave her to Tieran. However it was a great book! Can’t wait for book 5!

    • I like how it was done and this book resolves his companions doubts about him, solidifying their support or rejection of him. That chapter of the book is closed, and he can now move on to other plot points. I am happy for the characters and how they ended up.

    • Josh, if you remember in Book 2 Rezkin decided if he could not have Frisha he would make sure she was accepted by the peerage and married well. I saw the relationship between Frisha and Tieran growing at the end of Book 3. My question for Book 4 is – What will Sheila say?

      • And if u remember correctly he treated her more or less like pro in the 1st book and all but ignored her in the second book until they reminded him he still owed her a dress. I dunno I maybe misguided but I feel like they have both betrayed him imo

  14. Kel Brilliant work as always I love your writing. I cant understand why you would torture me by ending the book there….. but I’m hoping the next book doesn’t take too long cause I won’t survive not knowing what happens next.

    *spoilers*
I’m in no way telling you how to write your book but as a fan please be done with Frisha she’s succeed in hurting Rezkin way too much and Poor Tam I hope Rez gets too rescue him in time. Also not sure how I feel about Tieran and Frisha romance, but I’m totally shipping Yserria and Malcius.

Once again loved this installment and Hope the next boo I’m comes out soon!!!!

  16. I am excited to find that for the second week in a row Amazon lists “Kingdoms and Chaos” as a best seller. This makes it equally hard to read some of the Amazon comments. This is what I liked about Book 4 – (1) Tam has his own story, (2) Malcius is growing and Ysseri is helping him along, (3) Frisha has also grown and is making wiser decisions about what she wants in a love interest, and (4) I knew it!!! Rez is only part human. In fact, he has died many times. I also believe Rez is part Fae and this is what makes it so easy for him to communicate with the Ahn. What I didn’t like – (1) wrangling with the publishing editor’s use of auto-spellchecker. They could do better. (2) I distinctly remember a description of Rez in Book 4 having dark hair. Yet, he’s a Blonde on the cover. (3) Did Rez lose his innocence in Book 4? I think he did. Kel Kade, you just bowled over it! Don’t get me wrong, I dropped the book and laughed out loud. But, I like the story because Rez is maturing and embracing life as an “outworlder.” Getting whelps and teeth marks isn’t something I think poor Rez expected or responded to well to on his wedding night. Was this intentional? Is poor Rez supposed to develop “hang-ups?” I’m just saying…

    • It’s not just you. My characters are not one-dimensional. They’ve just lost everything–their homes, their possessions, their families and friends, their stations in life, all their plans for the future–and people have died. Not only that, but they’re scared and wholly dependant on this mysterious man they barely know. While some writers may maintain the status quo for their characters, mine are “real” people who are strongly affected by events and the trials they face.

  17. Hi Kel,

Loved the book. The only point I pernoally found odd is the way you broke up Rezkin and Fresha. It has to happen though the way you did it felt odd. Looking forward to book 5

    • I think the way they broke up made a lot of sense, I think the way Frisha moved on after that was handled a bit too quickly. It just seemed to come out of nowhere, although when you think about it I know Teiran and Frisha spent a lot of time together off screen, so just because we readers didn’t see it doesn’t mean there wasn’t time for the two of them to fall for each other.

I also loved the little detail of back in book 2 Rezkin telling Teiran his talent would be useful for creating a garden for his betrothed, the he believes women would find such a gesture romantic, and then in Book 4 we see Teiran taking Frisha in a walk in a portion of the garden he made that had all the scents of herbs from her mother’s garden from home, so it smelled just like home to her. Nice job Kade!

  18. I’ve read each book in the series 4 times now, (yes even the latest one), and I only found out about them 3 months ago. That should tell you how much I enjoy them. I have to ask though, did “Connovan” kill his strikers as well before leaving the fortress? It seems like it would make sense to clean up loose ends, but I can’t see any other Rez defeating all the strikers at once, so if he did kill them he must have been ordered to in their sleep one at a time or something. Also, please tell me we won’t have to wait too much longer to solve the mystery of Rezkin’s masters, why did they kill each other! Did one go rogue? Did they know Caydean was trying to kill Rezkin? If so why would they still tell him to serve his king? Ahhhh soo many questions, please answer them soon!!

Also, is there any even ballpark guess as to when book 5 will come out? Like fall of 2019, or early 2020, something like that?

  19. I love it! This and the upcoming Daniel Black. What a great year to read books with OP protagonist.

I just finished reading the book and it’s so vexing to wait, it’ll be worth it though.

√ OP Rezkin – As usual. I love OP Rezkin. This is the main reason why I read the first book. Keep him OP.
√ Rezkin x Erisial – Hot! This literally sealed that your book is unique from the rest. Respect!
√ Adana’Ro + Arethia – Glad to have the name of that mysterious Secrele from the Black Hall.
√ Tam growing so fast – Good! I hope Rezkin destroys the slave trade.
√ Frisha x Tieran (some commenters have spoiled it already :D) – Frisha growing up!
√ Rezkin hugging Nanasey – Farson: “Are you going to release her or hold her all night?”
✗ Ilanet x Tam – Nope. Ilanet’s like minor, a small-woman. I know it’s common in medieval society to court minors not to mention I’ve said your book is unique but and…. it still bothers me.

    I want Yserria x Rezkin dammit! …But I understand.

So I’m guessing Reaylin will have bigger role in the next book?

Don’t shove Frisha to Rezkin please. Your readers don’t like cliche.
