Thank you to all the listeners/readers who expressed their appreciation and enthusiasm for the series by leaving an Audible or Amazon review and/or rating. (If you haven’t done so, it would still be greatly appreciated!)

Special thanks to Nick Podehl for his amazing performance, Chris McGrath for the stunning cover art, and Podium Publishing for producing an excellent product!

Kel, I am almost finished with Book 2, and am eagerly awaiting the audiobook version of Book 3. I have a lengthy commute to and from work on a daily basis, and listen exclusively to audiobooks to keep me entertained (and keep my sanity 😉 ) I have never before become so engrossed in a story and invested in the characters as I have with your books. Rezkin has become one of my top all-time characters in any series, he and Raistlin from the DragonLance Chronicles by Weiss and Hickman now hold the top spots. These are characters that if they were able to step out out of their respective stories and and offer me a spot in their retinue I would offer my loyalty and allegiance immediately. Charisma, power, and the knowledge that Rezkin has makes for a compelling story in itself, now that I’ve met and become acquainted with the rest of the people you have in Kings Dark Tidings, I cant wait to hear more.

PLEASE hurry with the completion of book 3, and PLEASE have Nick Podehl read it to us; as a writer / reader team you guys are amazing. I eagerly await book 3 and the news that you plan on publishing even more in the series!

Will there be an new blog update soon on the current progress and plan? This one has enough comments I think now 🙂 Also its been well over a month since the last one so would be great to know whats happening and an idea (just a realllllly tenative one maybe?) of when we might get our hands on the next one!

(You know, so we can plan when to re-read the first two… again… just in case we missed anything the first 3 or 4 times lol).

I’ve read the first two books over and over again. I can’t wait for the 3rd. This is an amazing world you have created. The way that the characters truly connect to the ideas of their roles and each other. I love how we learned if Rez’s beginning and how we get to learn more of his history as the story progresses. I think that Fresha is the perfect person for the Rez. She is a little out of control now but it seems like she has hidden depths. These books are currently my 2nd favorite series. I hope the 3rd is just as astounding.

Thanks for letting me know how much you like the books. I’m glad you like Frisha, too. There is quite a discussion about that in the Goodreads discussion group “King’s Dark Tidings” in case you’re interested in joining. I appreciate your enthusiasm and patience.

I love Frisha’s character. I know some people don’t think she is particularly appealing but I love her fiery outburst over mix-ups. Can’t wait for the next book. At this point my life can pretty much be timed by which new book I’m waiting to come out each month.

Yes, but I’m not 100% settled on it so I won’t share yet.

I just wanted to say that I love your books. The audio books are very well done and I must have listened to them 2 or 3 times each. I can’t wait for the 3rd book.

Some of the characters that are only in the books for a chapter or two I hope come back at some put because they are very interesting to me. One is Adsden the serpent guild leader who was only in the first book for a chapter. The 2nd is Mage Nanessy Thrall who might be the only female character to not judge Rezkin off his looks when they first met and that she felt strongly for him without seeing what he looks like. In the long run because she is a mage and connected to a striker she might be better off with Rezkin in the end. On that note until frisha knows how Rezkin was raised and sees the world and friendship plus the raven side of himself I can’t see them together. Thanks for such a new and wonderful world. I look forward to reading more books in the series in the years to come.

I’m so glad you like the books and especially some of the supporting characters. If you like, there is a very active discussion about characters and a variety of other topics in the Goodreads discussion group “King’s Dark Tidings.” Thanks so much for your insight and feedback.

I’ve always been curious about things like this. At first there was discussion of the last book coming out in December. Then December came around and the book was pushed back. I have to ask.. Didn’t you know for a while that the book wasn’t going to come out in December? I mean, if it were just a small delay it’d be out by now. However, since it isn’t, that must mean a decent amount of work was still needed to finish it. Why wait until December itself to tell us it wasn’t coming out that month? I don’t mean this in an accusing way. I’m honestly curious as to how things like this work on your side.

Normally us readers never get an actual answer as to why delays work this way, but you seem to be very open with your fans so I thought I’d take a chance and ask as to get a look into the other side of things.

Thanks for writing. I understand the frustration of waiting for the next book (cough…cough…Rothfuss…cough). I can’t say about every author and every book, but in this case, I had written quite a bit and then realized a large part of the story was missing. I don’t write the story so much as it uses my mind to write itself. The characters drive it, and I am obliged to follow. Sometimes things happen that I wasn’t planning. It makes for a much better story, though. It’s less predictable, and the characters and their interactions are more realistic.

As far as December? Well, that was kind of wishful thinking in the first place, which I think I expressed in the original announcement of a potential release. I was initially hesitant to estimate a release at all, but I succumbed to the eagerness of my readers. Don’t get me wrong. I’m totally stoked that everyone is so thrilled for the next release. I’ll let you guys know when I’m more certain.

As long as you don’t make me wait as long as George Martin 🙂

When I miss Rez and Tam and Kay I will just read KDT again.

Thanks for sharing your vision, and thank you even more for opening to us fans. It is a real treat.
